Carbfix invites you to a meeting to discuss plans for the development and operation of a business area for receiving, injecting and mineralising CO₂ in Þorlákshöfn.
The purpose of the meeting is to initiate a dialogue with the residents of Ölfus about the development of such facilities. Carbfix has been growing in Ölfus since 2012, with operations at Hellisheiði and Þrengsli, where carbon dioxide (CO₂) and hydrogen sulfide are captured from the geothermal power plant of Orka náttúrunnar, as well as CO₂ from Climeworks.
The meeting will explain why and how such facilities are being built, what they can look like and what social and economic impact they have,as well as how the Carbfix technology works. Veitur will then describe how they support green business in accordance with the local government's policy with the same green emphasis.
